Blacksmithing Workshop for Active Military & Veterans

This Spring and Summer of 2023, TWV Taos and Veterans Off-Grid are partnering with The Paseo Project to offer 4 workshops for military and veterans,

“METAL, FIBER, WOOD, STONE”

sponsored by the NM Arts and Together with Veterans Taos.

Taos County’s active military and veteran community are welcome to participate in a new series of learning-based arts projects consisting of four workshops. “METAL / FIBER / WOOD / STONE” features four, half-day workshops, with Taos County artisans and craftspeople, providing hands-on experience in the mediums of metal, fiber, wood and stone.


APRIL 15 2023 | METAL / TRAVIS WEBB / INTRO TO BLACKSMITHING

The first in our series of Military & The Arts Workshops was held over the weekend.

METAL, on Saturday April 15, with Travel Webb (@taosvalleyforge), featured the basics of metal smithing, with forging basic shapes to make a wall hook.

Six active military and veterans were welcomed into Travis’s workshop for the afternoon of this half-day workshop offered free to our Military community.

This project is a collaboration with Veterans Off-Grid and proudly sponsored by Together With Veterans Taos, New Mexico Arts and Taos Community Foundation.
